Want to get your message out to around 800 people a weekend? Looking for a cheaper way to advertise to lots of people at one time? Look no farther than Film Series. Film Series currently offers advertising in two forms: Pre-show entertainment and co-sponsorship .
Cosponsorship
Groups wishing to show a movie on campus related to their interests are invited to cosponsor a movie with Film Series. Any movie that a group wishes to show, Film Series can work into our schedule. Some of the advantages of cosponsoring a movie with Film Series include: reaching a broad audience of Tufts students and increasing your club’s visibility on campus. In addition, cosponsoring a movie with Film Series is the only legal option for showing a movie on campus. The fines of showing a non-licensed movie to a public audience can range up to $250,000. By cosponsoring a movie with Film Series, your club can rest assured that the FBI will not investigate your organization for copyright infringement.

Preshow Advertising
Slide Format All advertisements must be in powerpoint form (*. ppt ). They can be whatever you want but must be static (i.e. containing no moving elements). They can be a maximum of two slides in length. Slides must also contain no sound elements. Use whatever graphics and color schemes you want, although note that these slides will be projected on a wall projector; some colors will not be as rich as others. Showtime All advertisements will be played before the movie and will appear at least twice before the movie starts. They will be intermixed with other pre-show entertainment including but not limited to Tufts Trivia, movie schedules, and theater reminders.

The deadline for slide submission is 5pm on the Wednesday before the weekend the slide is to run. Requests received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be shown, and will incur a late fee of $10 if they can be processed in time for showing. Slide submissions should be made to Sarah Gordon after co-sponsorship has been approved by the Advertising Director. For Tufts Student Organization, payment can be made with a Inter-TCU Transfer form. Forms can be found outside of the Senate office and completed forms can be left in the holding bin next to the Treasury office door. Payment must be received by the first Tuesday after first weekend your slide has been shown. If payment is not received by that day, a late fee will be added to your bill.
For a Tufts Department payment can be made by means of an Expense Transfer Form. Outside businesses may pay by cash, check or money order. For more information about payment contact The Billing Department. It is the submitting group’s responsibility to understand these policies before submitting an ad for display.
Cancellations and Refunds
Film Series will provide a full refund for cancellations received prior to the slide submission deadline. Refunds for slides withdrawn after the slide submission deadline will be based on whether or not the slide has been shown. If the slide has not been shown, a full refund will be provided. Otherwise, a partial refund will be provided based on the number of times the slide has been shown.
Film Series assumes no financial responsibility for typographical errors made in advertisements, but Film Series will correct any substantive errors made by Film Series and reshow such advertisements. Corrections must be received by the slide deadline for the following weekend.
In the event that a slide cannot be shown for technical reasons, the text of the slide will be read to the audience. Fees for the display of the slide will not be refunded under these circumstances.
Reserve
If you want to submit an advertisement, email The Advertising Office. You can submit the powerpoint slide directly through email or on a CD ONLY. Slides will NOT be accepted at a movie showing for inclusion and arrangements for showing must be made prior to the weekend. Once your slide has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your final cost. If you’d like to request co-sponsorship email our Advertising Department here .
Disclaimer
All advertisements are subject to the final approval of the Chairwoman even after they are accepted by the Advertiser. Advertisements that discriminate, contain false advertising, or advertise illegal goods will not be accepted. Tufts Film Series assumes no liability for its failure to show an advertisement. In the case that we are responsible for an error in an advertisement, we are liable only to adjust and rerun the ad or give a credit to the advertiser for the space originally reserved for the ad in error, provided that the advertiser notifies Film Series of the error within ten days of display. This obligation does not extend to more than one incorrectly run advertisement unless Film Series continues to run the ad in error following notification from the advertiser of the error before the deadline. The advertiser agrees to indemnify and hold Tufts Film Series and Tufts University harmless from all costs, expenses, liabilities and damages resulting from publication of any advertisement placed by the advertiser.
